The OuderApp can be downloaded from the Google Play Store (for Android devices) and the Apple App Store (for iOS/Apple devices). Once you have installed the app, you can log in using the details you received by email.
First time logging in
When you go to log into the OuderApp for the first time, you need three pieces of information:
- The URL of your childcare organisation
- Your Username
- Your password
What should you fill in at ‘URL’?
The ‘URL’ is the direct link to the parent portal environment of your childcare organisation. The URL can be found in the activation e-mail you received from your childcare organisation. If you no longer have that e-mail, please contact your childcare organisation, they can tell you the URL.
The URL generally looks like this: name-of-your-childcare-organisation.ouderportaal.nl
So in the app, in the URL field, only enter the name of your childcare organisation.
Note: do not enter ‘www.’ or ‘https://’ in front of it. Also the part .ouderportaal.nl does not need to be filled in the app, this is already filled in. So only fill in the name of your childcare organisation as mentioned in your account activation e-mail.
What should you enter under ‘Username and Password’?
Your username can be found in the activation e-mail you received earlier.
For the password, enter the password you have set.
When you log in for the first time, there may be permissions or statements that need to be filled in to continue. By clicking on the consent or statement, you can fill in the consent, and more information on the consent or statement will be displayed here.
By default, permission is requested here for the use of the photo and the diary. Which consents or statements are requested here may differ per organisation.
Permissions can be changed afterwards under the heading other. By clicking on the child in this overview, you can change or fill in the permission.
Forgotten your password? No problem!
Via the ‘forgot password’ option, it is possible to request a password reset. An e-mail will then be sent to the e-mail address known in our system. Don't receive an e-mail? Please contact your childcare organisation, they can check your e-mail address and also send you a password reset.
Step-by-step plan for login problems
1. Check that both the OuderApp and your phone's operating system have the latest updates.
Is everything up-to-date? Then proceed to step 2. If this is not the case then perform the available updates and then try logging into the OuderApp again.
2.Try logging into the Parent Portal via an internet browser (Chrome, FireFox, Safari, Edge) on a computer, laptop or phone. The URL for this generally looks like this: name-of-your-childcare-organisation.ouderportaal.nl (Note: each childcare organisation has its own URL, this can be found in your activation e-mail).
If you manage to log in here, this confirms that your account is in order. Then proceed to step 3.
If you are unable to log into the Parent Portal via the internet, your childcare organisation can investigate the reason for this, please contact them.
3. If your Parent Portal account is in order (step 2), empty the temporary memory (cache) of the OuderApp on the phone. Below is an explanation for both Android and Apple users.
Android
Open the Settings menu and tap ‘Apps’.
Tap the ‘OuderApp’ and then tap ‘Storage’ and in the new screen tap ‘Empty Cache’.
Apple
On an iPhone, the cache cannot be emptied at the touch of a button. First step here is to switch off the iPhone completely and then on again. Another possible solution to this is to uninstall the OuderApp, then wait at least 24 hours, and then reinstall the OuderApp. In those 24 hours, iOS (the Apple operating system) might clean up the cache memory. After this, try to log in to OuderApp again.
4. If you have switched to another childcare organisation and now only see the login page of the previous childcare organisation // Or you only see the start-up screen of the OuderApp but do not get any further, go through the following steps:
- Make sure the app and your phone have the latest updates
- Close the OuderApp completely (forced shutdown)
- Put the phone in Airplane Mode (so there is no internet connection).
- Open the OuderApp. It will now determine that automatic login fails and will return to the default login screen.
- Turn off Airplane Mode again, so that connection is restored, and then try to log in.
