We regularly get reports from OuderApp users who see an alert on their iOS device saying ‘This password is involved in a data leak’.
It does NOT mean that there is a problem with the OuderApp. It just means that the password being used is not secure anymore. For example, because it is a common or easily guessed password. Therefore, the advice is to set a new secure password immediately.
We explain what this means and the solution:
This notification is given since iOS 14, which is the operating system on Apple devices. This notification is not shown on Android devices. In iOS 14 and above, there is a feature that checks whether the password someone enters when logging into an account (e.g. the OuderApp) has ever occurred in a data leak. If so, the device will thus issue a warning that the password used is insecure.
